Number One Campground

Number One Campground is a simple bush campsite located in Clonbinane. It allows dogs and is accessible with a 2WD vehicle. It has basic toilet facilities, picnic tables and shelters, and wood-fired barbecues.

There are separate space with horse yards are available for visitors travelling with horses.

Please note there is no water supply at this campground, so you will need to bring your own. All rubbish must be removed with you. It is a free camping campsite, please respect the facilities.

Mt. Disappointment provides ample opportunities for walking, trail bikes, four-wheel driving and horseback riding.

The site also has historical significance. In the 1940s, it was used to house 75 Italian prisoners of war under the supervision of the Australian military.

Location: Number One Camp, Allisons Road, Clonbinane Victoria.

There is limited signal in Clonbinane and the Mount Disappointment State Forest, we recommend downloading maps before visiting and utilising applications such as All Trails.

Please note roads within the Mount Disappointment State Forest vary in condition throughout each season. There is also an abundance of local native wildlife, so please drive with care.
