Bridge to Bridge Walk – Strathbogie Township

This walk meanders along the Seven Creeks and Spring Creek behind the township of Strathbogie. The track also passes the confluence of these two creeks, where the Seven Creeks heads west and flows towards Polly McQuinns Weir.

You’ll walk beneath a canopy of Swamp Gums along the creek where you can see a variety of bird and animal life – ducks, bush birds, even koalas and platypus. Wooden benches are provided at intervals along the track and boards show information on local natural history.

At the southern end of the walk the track loops, so you can choose to walk either along the stream or across the floodplain, which is about 100 m wide. If the weather has been very wet, or there has been heavy rain, parts of the floodplain track may be underwater.

Bridge to Bridge Walk

Adjacent to Strathbogie township, this beautiful 2.2km return bush-walk travels alongside permanent waterways through soaring swamp, peppermint and manna gum forest. The riparian zone is significant habitat for indigenous flora, fauna, bird and aquatic life. Children love to explore the water and run along the track at a great pace. However, slowing them down and encouraging observation may result in a pleasing sighting or two. Suitable for all ages. It is a wonderful track for the whole family to enjoy. There are several interpretive signs and an “Educational Shelter” along the way. A couple of short steep sections may be best negotiated by less able walkers with assistance. Wooden benches are provided at intervals along the track. This is a volunteer-managed mown trail that is subject to flood erosion. The track can be uneven. In warmer months snakes may be present. If you see one, by all means admire its beauty, keep your distance and it will do the same.
