Strath Creek Falls & Walk

The Strath Creek Falls Walk is a short (1km), steep walk leading to a viewing platform overlooking Strath Creek Falls in Mt Disappointment State Forest, Clonbinane.

This is a grade 3 track which descends from the car park to the viewing area via a formed gravel path with steps.

The waterfall is most active after rain, and the surrounding landscape features steep escarpments and native bushland.
Caution is advised near edges and during wet conditions, as surfaces can be slippery.
Dogs are allowed on leash.

There is limited signal in the Mount Disappointment State Forest, we recommend downloading maps before visiting and utilising applications such as All Trails.

Please note roads within the Mount Disappointment State Forest vary in condition throughout each season. There is also an abundance of local native wildlife, so please drive with care.

Getting there: From Melbourne take the Hume Freeway to Broadford/Flowerdale road. Proceed along this road until Murchison Spur Road is reached on the right. Head 9km on the scenic dirt road before turning left into the Strath Falls road. There is a carpark and picnic tables here but the final descent to the carpark needs to be taken carefully.
